Michael Jackson – The Legend Lives On

I was hanging out with one of my girlfriends the other day and she has a young boy who is about 10 years old I think. We were just sitting there having a coffee and a chit chat when this young kid comes up and says “Mom I want to be like Michael Jackson – can I get a Michael Jackson costume?”.

I was just blown away, Michael Jackson was an icon of my generation, but sadly I thought he had been almost forgotten in recent years. It seemed the whole world turned their back on him when his life got tough, only to exclaim “Michael was the king of pop!” when he died recently.

I find this attitude troubling, human nature I guess, but still, wouldn’t it have been nice to have shown him how we felt when he was still alive?

Anyway, I couldn’t help myself, I jumped straight online to see if we could find this young man an outfit so he could dress up as his new hero. And low and behold up comes Michael Jackson costumes for kids.

This is going to be one happy kid I can tell you – we ordered right away.

I’m just really happy that the younger generation still love Michael the way some of us always did.

Learning Guitar for a Left Handed Person

A friend of mine decided she wanted to learn to play guitar the other day and I thought this was really cool, I had an old guitar and thought she might like to use that to get started with.

I pulled it out and handed it to her and suddenly we both realized she was left handed and my guitar was made for a right handed person!

Oh my – I had never considered this before. I mean you don’t have left handed clarinets and saxaphones do you?

Anyway, we were just pondering what we should do and if they even made guitars for left handed people when I decided to search Google and see what I could find on this topic. Would you belie it! I found an awesome site all about the technique of playing left handed guitar on a right handed guitar!

So it is possible and my friend has already learned a few chords! It will be a while before she’s ready to go on stage though

I still don’t know if it’s better for a left hander to get a guitar that’s made for them?  But there surely have been some famous left hand players such as Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney! Being left handed certainly wont stop you from being great!

This is quite possibly the most original and groundbreaking film ever to come out of Hollywood. 10 years ago celebrities would not have neen seen dead in a clip like this but today we are so much more open minded. It gives me faith that humanity is evolving.

DONUTS or DOUGHNUTS? both are so good with Coffee!

Coffe And Donuts

DONUTS or DOUGHNUTS? I think both spellings are correct, but it doesn’t really matter,  who could dispute that coffee and donuts go oh so well together!

You all know I’m really slim, and some of you may wonder how I keep this up when I tell you; I eat donuts with my coffee, and still I stay slim!

If you want to know what my secret is, well… ok… I’ll let you in on what I think helps keep me slim, I have my doughnuts and coffe in the morning and then green tea helps me lose weight, I drink some in the evening after a light meal, often I’ll just have a salad, sometimes some healthy Mexican food which I really love!

The green tea just helps my metabolism stay healthy, and as long as I don’t have the naughty stuff to late in the day then it pretty much all works out. Mexican food is great too – It’s pretty low in fat and generally quite healthy.

Spelling is a funny one though isn’t it… When we talk about dough we spell it d-o-u-g-h. So how did the spelling donut come about? its not a do-nut…

If anyone knows leave me a comment. My brain hurts now, I think it’s because my hair is blonde…

Recently I decided my eyelashes were not quite long enough and I wanted to grow them longer. Impossible? you might think this is the case but it is not so. A company called Latisse makes drops that can actually help you to grow longer eyelashes!

And now my eyelashes are longer than they ever were before! I can’t believe it!

One of my best friends nieces is graduating and we have to find her a present. I had a look around and found college graduation gifts.

I’m really not sure what the best gift is though. When I graduated from college I didn’t get one of the following from my daddy – but they are all quite good ideas for graduation presents

I’m Heading To Colorado For The Weekend!

I’m heading to Colorado this weekend! Absolutely can’t wait!

What I usually do when I take a little celebrity vacation like this is rent a Limo and try to get out and see some of the countryside!

This year I’ve found a new Colorado car hire company that looks good – they rent nice Chevy Suburbans, and as long as I can get one with a tinted window option,  I’m sold!

Tints are important when you’re a celebrity like me – sometimes my fans can be just so.. overwhelming. And when I head to Colorado it’s because i need a little time out!

I like the Chevy Suburban to – A good vehicle on road or off.

A Job In The Film Industry – Production Assistant Jobs

Now my friend (who doesn’t want her name to be mentioned) has been hassling me about helping her find a job in the industry. She’s not sure exactly sure what sort of film job she wants but she likes film production. Now I of course am more inclined towards the starring roles you know me, I’m a celebrity at heart.

Anyway, I was digging around and I found this excellent site that lists lots of different film jobs that you can get, and browsing around I found this page on Production Assistant Jobs! Which would suit her to a T because she’s just starting out and needs to get some experience first.

Now I think my friend will be very happy – this is an excellent resource for anyone wanting more information on film jobs and I’m just really glad that someone with the knowledge took the time to sit down and write about this stuff!

Heath Ledger Wins Oscar

Heath Ledger was one of my favorite actors and I found out today that he has been nominated for ‘Best Actor’ posthumously at the Academy Awards almost one year to the day since he passed away.

In my mind, and in my heart he has already won and no one else could, or should take this award from him.

Rest In Peace Heath. We love you.
